Greater Boston's best new restaurants

BONDIR Chef-owner Jason Bond won diners over with French fare at Beacon Hill Bistro. Bondir, which opened in Cambridge last November, is his first solo restaurant, making its excellence all the more impressive. The cozy room feels like a cabin in the middle of the city. The menu changes daily and is filled with thoughtful, inventive dishes based on local, seasonal ingredients. Perhaps you'll find flounder and clam seviche with shaved radish salad and chili oil sherry vinaigrette or duck breast with kale, black lentils, and a barley flour pancake. Even in the dead of February, you never find yourself thinking, “This is amazingly delicious for a meal based on roots and winter greens.” You simply think, “This is amazingly delicious.” Imagine how exciting Bond's summer menus will be.
