Doyle's Cafe
3484 Washington St., Jamaica Plain
617-524-2345

Strike up the band! If you've ever been to Doyle's Cafe on St. Patrick's Day, you know it's not just about the food. There's live Irish music all day, yes, but there's also something a little louder. The Boston Police Gaelic Column of Pipes and Drums (pictured) stops in for a bit to entertain the crowd.

Doyle's Cafe calls its St. Patrick's Day meal the New England Boiled Dinner, which includes corned beef and cabbage, potato, beets, and carrots. If that doesn't appeal to your taste buds, the full regular menu will be served. Doyle's apparently takes St. Patrick's Day very seriously — it will offer Irish menu delights for an entire week. Yes, that means from March 17-24.

On St. Patrick's Day, the establishment will be open from 12 p.m. to 1 a.m.; there will be at $10 cover charge. Call for more details.
