The pinnacle of romance?
We see that Top of the Hub is up for a "Romantic Restaurant" award at tonight's Boston Choice Awards. There's no denying that the view is spectacular from the 52d floor of the Prudential Tower, and yes there's live jazz and dancing every night, but we just can't get past the food. We've eaten there and been disappointed. Some friends went recently for an anniversary dinner and found their meals so unsatisfactory that they actually sent one of them back. And these are not picky people. (For more commentary about the food, and a funny debate on whether the restaurant spins, check out Chowhound).
Now, Top of the Hub does have a new holiday menu, and maybe things have improved. Let's hope so. When people go somewhere expecting romance, they should be swooning the entire time.
