Dress you up in cyber love

stardoll.com

We've got to admit we're a little jealous of celebrity stylists like Rachel Zoe . Dressing up beautiful people in expensive clothes is a pretty sweet way to make a living. But even if we never have the chance to outfit Mischa Barton for the real red carpet, at least we can do it online.

Stardoll.com uses the classic paper-doll model and vamps it up with celebrity style. The site takes A-list names and fashion icons such as Brad Pitt, Beyoncé, and Audrey Hepburn and lets users pick out their wardrobe. By simply clicking and dragging garments off the racks and onto the two-dimensional renderings of the stars, fashionphiles can put together an ensemble that would make Tim Gunn proud. And you don't even have to register to play.

The old paper-doll game may seem a bit juvenile, but with the vast amount of celebrities available, Web surfers of all ages can get lost in these Hollywood closets for hours. There are actors, actresses, musicians, and models on the list, as well as royalty and athletes (including the Pats' own Tom Brady ).

In addition to the cyber dress-up play, the site is also an online community of more than 6 million registered users (mostly teens and tweens), according to a counter on the homepage. By registering, members can make their own MeDoll avatar, save celebrity creations, and maintain their own MyS pace-like page. Registration is free, but members can purchase additional Stardollars to shop for new clothes.

Even if you're not interested in fashion, it's a chance to ogle some e-stars in their cartoon skivvies -- another reason to envy the real-life perks of Ms. Zoe.
