Cultural perks

A sample of ways local arts organizations want to entertain you:

Fall for the Arts!

Boston-area arts boosters throw a party for under-35 professionals and serve information about a cornucopia of local cultural offerings and events. Free and open to the public, Sept. 30, from 6 to 8 p.m., at the Institute of Contemporary Art, 955 Boylston St. Call 617-266-5152.

Membership has its advantages

A new American Repertory Theatre membership gets you into the ICA, the Coolidge Corner Theatre, and Boston Modern Orchestra Project events for less -- as well as discounts at an array of Harvard Square restaurants. World Music/CRASHarts members get deals on seats and 10 percent discounts at major Boston music and video stores. Wang Center for the Performing Arts VIP Members sip and nibble at its Loge Club before shows and during intermission. Your favorite presenter may offer perks that appeal to you; just ask.

Join in

Audiences want to do more than look and listen. Hands-on exhibitions, workshops, and post-performance talkbacks are part of the package at more museums and performances these days.

Puttin' it together

Your MFA or Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum ticket stub is good for reduced admission at the neighboring museum. The MFA, Gardner, Huntington Theatre Company, and Wheelock Family Theatre are among those in the neighborhood who will open their doors free of charge on Oct. 13 for the Fenway Cultural Alliances's second Opening Our Doors Day. For information, call 617-437-7544.
