'The Year Without Santa Claus'
"Did you ever hear of the curious, furious, fidgety year when Santa Claus unhitched his sleigh and vowed he was taking a holiday?"
Mickey Rooney lends his voice to Santa in this 1974 claymation feature. Santa, worn out by a world void of the Christmas spirit, puts the holiday on hold, forcing Mrs. Claus to send two of Santa's elves on the lookout for some good tidings. A long list of characters, including Snowmeiser (right) and Mother Nature, step in to lend a hand. However, it's only when the children of the world decide to bring Christmas to Santa that St. Nick's holiday cheer is restored once and for all.
