We hope this is only a negotiating tactic: In an interview with the BBC, actor Steve Carell said he intends to leave NBC's hugely popular series "The Office" after one more season. Carell's portrayal of clueless, tone-deaf but loveable boss Michael Scott is the reason to watch "The Office," so his exit would surely doom the comedy, which debuted as a midseason replacement in March 2005 and was based on Ricky Gervais's British comedy of the same name. Carell, who grew up in Concord, has been starring in more movies recently, including the current "Date Night" with Tina Fey. His contract with "The Office" apparently runs for one more season. Asked whether he would stay beyond that, Carell replied: "I don't think so. I think that will probably be my last year." You can listen to a clip from the BBC interview here.
