P2X00250_7.jpgDiego Torre, who opened the Boston Lyric Opera's 2010-11 season last night in the lead role of Cavaradossi in Puccini's "Tosca, will be unable to take the stage for Sunday's matinee. Torre is recovering from a bronchial infection, the BLO announced this afternoon.
He will be replaced tomorrow by Richard Crawley, courtesy of the Metropolitan Opera. Recent engagements for Crawley have included Cavaradossi in "Tosca" (opposite Carol Vaness) with the San Francisco Opera. At this time, the BLO anticipates that Torre will resume his role for the remainder of the BLO run, which includes performances on Nov. 10, 12, 14, and 16.
