Man accused of scattering photos of former girlfriend on campus

DANBURY, Conn. --A Waterbury man has been arrested on charges that he littered the campus of Western Connecticut State University with nude photos of a former girlfriend.

Police Thursday charged James Famiglietti, 24, with breach of peace and littering. Famiglietti and the young woman in the photos, a student, had in the past been in a relationship, police said.

"The victim is happy and glad it's over," Officer Rick Montefusco said Thursday.

On Sept. 12, WestConn police received a complaint that someone in a car was dropping photographs all over the campus off Lake Avenue Extension.

When police went to the campus, they collected 208 pictures of the same woman and placed them into evidence, Montefusco said.

Police spent more than an hour collecting all the 5-inch by 7-inch pictures and "did an excellent job maintaining the confidentiality of the student," Montefusco said.

The victim, who was notified of the incident, said the pictures were from a modeling portfolio she had.

Famiglietti, turned himself in to Western Connecticut State University police. He was released on a promise to appear Thursday in Superior Court. The case was continued to Oct. 19.
