James and Audrey Foster Prize

Work by the 2006 finalists Sheila Gallagher, Jane D. Marsching, Kelly Sherman, and Rachel Perry Welty examines topics ranging from the

existence of miracles and the paranormal to emotion's place in a cynical world and the beauty of disposable objects.

Chiho Aoshima

Dec. 10, 2006-Oct. 28, 2007

For the inaugural mural on the Sandra and Gerald Fineberg Art Wall, Aoshima has created

"The Divine Gas," a depiction of a girl in a fantastical landscape.

Momentum 7: Misaki Kawai

Whimsical work created from papier-mache, wood, fabric, and other low-tech materials like felt, stickers, and yarn.

Bourgeois in Boston

Bringing together works

from area collections both

public and private, this

exhibition spans sculptures, prints, and drawings to create

a portrait of Louise Bourgeois and her fascination with

desire, sexuality, beauty, and anxiety.

The largest survey of the

photographer's work to date includes selections from the series "Hollywood Blvd," "Streetworks," and "Heads,"

as well as the entirety of the recent "Storybook Life"

National Design Triennial: Design Life Now

Sept. 28, 2007-Jan. 6, 2008

Organized by the Smithsonian's Cooper-Hewitt, National Design Museum, the triennial presents the most innovative American designs from the prior three years in such fields as product design, architecture, furniture, film, graphics, medicine, and fashion.

Feb. 1-May 4, 2008

Sculptures and installations made since 1992 will make up the first major survey of the artist's work in the United States in 15 years.
