Staging a real masked ball complete with violent intrigue might be less daunting than what Boston Lyric Opera has taken on with Verdi's "Un ballo in maschera." It's a co-production with Opera Colorado and The Minnesota Opera, but the world premiere is here, at the Shubert Theatre tonight . And that means that a year and a half of planning ...
