Talking the tangled talk

Email|Print|Single Page| Text size + By June Wulff
Globe Staff / April 23, 2008

In "Travesties," playwright Tom Stoppard takes audiences to 1917 Zurich to eavesdrop on an imagined discussion between communist revolutionary Vladimir Lenin (Gabriel Kuttner, left), Dadaist Tristan Tzara (Alejandro Simoes, right), and writer James Joyce - as it is distortedly remembered by British diplomat, and amateur actor, Henry Carr (Nigel Gore, center). Issues such as the politics of art and the art of revolution are tossed about in this spoof of Oscar Wilde's "The Importance of Being Ernest," presented by the Publick Theatre. Tonight at 7:30 (show runs through May 3). $32.50-$35. Boston Center for the Arts Plaza Theatre, 539 Tremont St., Boston. 617-933-8600. bostontheatrescene.com
