Hilary Tolan: "Remainder"

Email|Print|Single Page| Text size + By Cate McQuaid
Globe Correspondent / May 15, 2008

May 15-31
Like many still life artists before her, Tolan meditates on mortality. Using cut flowers and fake ones, some gorgeously but unnervingly coated in wax, her installation and photos note time's passage and chides us for trying to stop it. (Above, detail of "English Garden"). Tue-Sat noon-5 p.m. Free. Kingston Gallery, 450 Harrison Ave., Boston. 617-423-4113. kingstongallery.com
