A tale of Tip

June 15, 2008

"You know, I never made much money in politics but it made me rich - rich in friendships and rich in memories. I wrote a book about it. When it came out, the publisher asked me to attend a booksellers' convention in Ohio.

I still had a lot of security around me, so when I got to the airport, they asked me to board the plane last. When I got on, I sat next to a young woman.

She turned to me and said, 'They're holding the plane for somebody important. Do you have any idea who it is?'

'I can't imagine who it could be.'

'What do you do for a living?'

'I sell books.'

'How's business?'

'I don't know. This is my first day on the job.' "
