One-stop open studios

Open studios tours can be exhausting: You have to get a map and plan your route, then prepare for a lot of walking - or a lot of parking. But at the Boston Open Studios Coalition Exhibition at Boston City Hall, you can see everything in one place, and you can even take care of city business while you do it. More than 40 artists from Boston neighborhoods will show off paintings, photographs, and sculptures in the galleries and hallways. Artists include East Boston painter Maureen O'Connor ("2 Ducks on a Floral") and the South End's Lara Loutrel (her drypoint, relief, and paper piece "Arkh 97" is pictured). Mon-Fri 9 a.m.-5 p.m. (through Aug. 29). Free. Boston City Hall, Government Center, Boston. 617-635-3911. cityofboston.gov/arts
