NEW YORK—Some museums might not want to admit they have fakes in their collections.

Not The Brooklyn Museum: It's planning an exhibition on them.

The museum says that a third of the sculptures in its small Coptic art collection are fake. It will be displaying them, along with the real works, in an exhibition early next year.

Officials say the show will be a good way to educate the public about the process of authenticating art.
