Via Matta's F.A.M.E., a monthly Wednesday night art party, continues tonight with "Paint Pens in Purses." The exhibit is part of an all-female urban art series. "We are in the early stages of a new art movement which will and must involve the touch of female artists," says organizer and Boston-based artist Shayna Shenanigans (her "Snails" is at left). "This movement is the love child of our past art inspirations, a mix of graffiti styles of the '80s and '90s, the psychedelic art of the '60s and '70s, and of course, something honest and new." With music from DJ Miss Thang, fashion from local streetwear designers Seduce and Destroy, and free food and drink, it sounds like a movement we can get behind. Free. 7-10 p.m. Via Matta, 79 Park Plaza, Boston. 617-442-0008. www.viamattarestaurant.com [L.O]
