Sculpture of police officer in Stamford stolen

STAMFORD, Conn. --Stamford police are investigating the theft of a 600-pound bronze sculpture of a police officer from a downtown street corner.

The sculpture "Time's Up" by artist Seward Johnson shows a police officer writing a ticket. It had been placed at the corner as part of the Downtown Special Services District's art in public places.

The sculpture is one of 53 pieces of lifelike art placed throughout the downtown area. The "Time's Up" sculpture that was stolen is owned by the artist.

Police are seeking the public's help for leads to find out how the heavy piece of art was stolen over the weekend.
