Local painter Ros Farbush turns 80 in '08, and the Oceanside 17 Gallery is celebrating. The South Shore art venue is hosting "Forever Farbush," a show dedicated to the artist who studied at the School of the Museum of Fine Arts, taught art in Boston public schools, and is a member of the Copley Society. Her works include scenes from Beacon Hill and the North End, as well as a self-portrait she made 62 years ago. ("Manny" is above.) If you want to meet the artist, she'll be at the studio most of tomorrow and Sunday. Today 11 a.m.-6 p.m., tomorrow 11 a.m.-8 p.m., Sunday noon-5 p.m. Show up through Sept. 3. Free. Oceanside 17 Studio and Gallery, 17 Rockland Circle, Hull. 781-773-1563. www.oceanside17.com
