Last month, the Boston Center for the Arts threw a party to welcome its new resident theater company, Up You Mighty Race, which specializes in bringing works by black playwrights to the stage. Starting tonight, you can see the company's first production at the BCA, "In the Continuum," a drama about two women - a teenager living in a group home and a Zimbabwean newscaster - who are diagnosed with HIV. The play is recommended for ages 14 and up. 7:30 p.m. (Show runs through Oct. 18.) $33. BCA Plaza Black Box, 617-933-8600. www.bostontheatre scene.com
