"Lighting the Obscure World" at Gallery 263 in Cambridgeport is a group show by local artists who have a lot to say about a lot of subjects. Robert Davies shows a collection of pencil portraits of artists who have committed suicide or died young including Hunter S. Thompson, Virginia Woolf, and Dylan Thomas. Tamar Etingen makes monoprints of endangered animals set in abstract landscapes. Supermodel Kate Moss is the subject of Robert House's "Sitcom" (detail, above), and Rick Berry creates a haunting shrouded woman in "Rise." Thurs-Sat 11 a.m.-6:30 p.m. (through Dec. 31). Free.
