David Mamet doesn’t beat around the bush. He whacks it to and fro, puts it in the mulcher, and spits it out. In a club setting with a cash bar, the American Repertory Theatre presents "Sexual Perversity in Chicago" and "The Duck Variations," two of the playwright’s early comedies. Both deal with male relationships, sex, and aging, so you might need those drinks. If you want more Mamet, there's a screening of ";American Buffalo" on June 22 at 7 p.m. at the Coolidge Corner Theatre (www.coolidge.org). Tonight at 7:30 (through June 28). $25, $39; $25 students (advance purchase); other discounts available. Zero Arrow Theater, corner of Arrow Street and Massachusetts Avenue, Harvard Square, Cambridge. 617-547-8300. www.americanrepertorytheater.org JUNE WULFF![]()
