Open studios are a great way for artists to show how and where they create, and at this year’s Roxbury Open Studios there will be more than 100 participants, including Paul Goodnight, Ekua Holmes, 80 artists from the School of the Museum of Fine Arts, and men from Do Right Ministries who have spent time in prison. Creations include paintings, sculpture, quilts, mixed media, and jewelry. Oct. 3 and 4, 11 a.m.-5 p.m. Free. Maps available at Hibernian Hall (184 Dudley St., Roxbury), Dudley Branch Public Library (65 Warren St., Roxbury), A Nubian Notion (41 Warren St., Roxbury). 617-541-3900. www.roxburyopenstudios.com
