We don’t usually confess that one of our favorite films is “Valley of the Dolls,’’ but we always admit that Ryan Landry’s Gold Dust Orphans is one of the most outrageous and creative theater troupes in the universe. We’re in theater heaven with Landry’s current production of “Valet of the Dolls,’’ a romp through the loves, lives, and personal journeys of three dolls who “slowly spiral out of control, endlessly circling the block looking for that one broken meter.’’ The fabulous regulars include Landry as Miss Helen Lawson, Afrodite as Anne Wells, and Penny Champayne as Jennifer North. Oct. 23 at 8 p.m. (through Nov. 22). $35. For mature audiences. Machine, 1254 Boylston St., Boston. 617-265-6222. www.brownpapertickets.com/event/80205
