Bring a five-minute story to tonight’s Massmouth Story Slam and hope you’re one of 10 folks picked at random to share your thoughts. Judges will be looking for how well the story is told and constructed, and how it relates to the theme of “scared to death.’’ There are prizes for the top three storytellers. Audience members will play story improv games between the two sets. 7 p.m. $5 suggested donation (one-drink minimum), $2 student discount ($3 discount for students who hand in a six-word story at the door). 18+. Kennedy’s Midtown, 42 Province St., Boston. 617-426-3333. www.kennedysmidtown.com JUNE WULFF
