Mezzo-soprano Dana Beth Miller sinks her teeth into the role of Carmen, the fiery tempered, passionate, gorgeous gypsy girl in Georges Bizet’s “Carmen.’’ Boston Lyric Opera opens its season with a fresh look at the classic French opera set in 1830 Seville. The production features a streamlined libretto and scenery, and re-introduces dialogue originally specified by Bizet. Sung and spoken in French with projected English translation.
