Randy Weiner doesn’t do the day-to-day programming at Oberon, but his open-minded philosophy rules the space. “The Donkey Show’’ runs there through this summer. In addition, the staff will book anyone willing to guarantee the bar-tab minimum. Here are a few upcoming events:

Oberon Dance Battle, April 1

Influenced by pro wrestling, this is a “dance spectacular pitting some of the city’s best dancers against each other in an intense competition to win the title of ‘Boston’s Best Dancer,’ ’’ says Weiner.

The Animals, April 9

Based on the electropop album “The Animals,’’ this event offers “live electropop music, huge video/animation, three insane dancers, 10 animals, and the 10 epic deaths of one boy,’’ Weiner says.

Evelyn Evelyn, April 12-13

Weiner describes this as “the world’s only conjoined-twin singer-songwriter duo. Discovered and launched by punk-cabaret queen Amanda Palmer (the Dresden Dolls) and endless minstrel Jason Webley.’’

The Big Quiz Thing, April 15

“Quizmaster Noah Tarnow, the trivia king of NYC, joined by DJ-sidekick EDP and the B-Cuties, presents the ultimate test of useless knowledge,’’ says Weiner.
