Once, if a British artist wanted serious attention in the 1950s, 1960s, and 1970s, he or shehad to show in New York. But Richard Brown Baker, a savvy New York collector, got behind British artists early. His collection of British art, plus works acquired after his death, in 2002, to expand that collection, are now on view in ”Made in the UK: Contemporary Art from the Richard Brown Baker Collection at the Museum of Art at Rhode Island School of Design.
