My Morning Jacket hired Berkeley, CA.-based artist Frank Wiedemann to create a special poster for the band's Symphony Hall gigs. And has he ever. The poster, pictured below, will presumably be on sale at Symphony Hall and at Newbury Comics.

Don't forget to check out Wiedemann's site, which features the posters he's done for the Fillmore and other venues over the last decade. (Our fave has to be the Monkees.) Wiedemann, a RISD graduate, tells us he was looking to create a retro "Phantom of the Opera/ Frankenstein"-style poster. "I photographed myself in a pose for the conductor, then used it is as a template for the illustration," Wiedemann writes. "The hair was added."
