The Institute of Contemporary Art has finalized the speakers for its first "What New Is" series, set to launch in its new building. First, one that got away: Director Jim Jarmusch. He's doing a film, and doesn't have time to stop by. But the ICA has signed on punk poetess Patti Smith for a talk February 21. (Yes, we asked. She's set to talk and perhaps read, not perform her music.) The series also features architects Diller Scofidio + Renfro (October 4) and choreographer Mark Morris with the Globe's Richard Dyer (March 7).
