MFA Attendance, "Americans in Paris"

Posted by Geoff Edgers July 11, 2006 06:45 AM

Good news for the beancounters. As of Sunday, 23,831 people had attended "Americans in Paris" at the Museum of Fine Arts. To put that in context, the MFA's 2005 Ansel Adams exhibition, its most recent big summer show, pulled in 23,210 during the same opening stretch.

Here's a picture from the MFA archives of a crowd, circa 1965, lining up to see "Whistler's Mother".
