Kitty Dukakis Writes
Frankly, it was hard not to get excited when the note pinged into the Exhibitionist's in-box. Kitty Dukakis, the woman who could have been First Lady, had sent a note to moi.
Sadly, a quick click killed the buzz. The note from Dukakis was urging a vote for Deval Patrick based on his support for the arts. Well, at least she and the e-mail's other signee, Barbara W. Grossman, who has long been a booster of culture and Democrats, care enough to spam us with a note connecting the candidate with the arts.
The crux of the e-mail:
"Deval has integrated arts and culture into his vision of hope and progress, a positive vision that embraces change, purpose, and opportunity for all. In many tangible ways he is prepared to restore the kind of government, and civil society, we desperately need.
The Romney/Healey administration has not supported the arts. They have never sought to restore funding and have vetoed some of the funding increases passed by the Legislature."
