Ralph Steadman talks to the Globe about his new book on his old collaborator, Hunter S. Thompson. The New York Times offers a lively primer for anybody thinking of dropping eight figures on one of the Klimts, Monets, or Picassos going on the block this week. Paul Master-Karnik, who surprised even his own curators by resigning last month, apparently had been planning his exit for some time.

And a thought on the Children's Museum. Yes, it's understandable the museum's emphasis is on its expansion project. But the building remains open, at least until January. And for paying customers, it's surprising how much doesn't work. Dead buttons in the Blue Man Group exhibit and room with golf ball ramps, even a busted hand blower in the bubble room. Weird. It still cost $16 for an adult and four-year-old on Saturday.
