Art Institute Of Chicago, Renting

Posted by Geoff Edgers November 5, 2007 03:28 PM

Tyler Green takes aim at the Art Institute of Chicago, and James Cuno - another old friend - as it relates to the museum's arrangement with the Kimbell. Green is referring to the estimated $2 million the Kimbell is paying for a "loan." (Carol Vogel reported that figure.)

It is worth noting that Boston's Museum of Fine Arts got hammered for a similar arrangement, with two important differences: The MFA received less, and it rented its works to a Las Vegas casino art gallery.
