Monday Reads

Yes, Don Imus has hired two black comedians to join the cast of his returning radio show. But why is he still wearing that weird, cowboy get-up?

Eric B. and Rakim? Okay. Strauss and Mahler riding Hogs? Now that's a t-shirt.

Speaking of mad bikers, apparently Evel Knievel's decision to attack a man with a baseball bat 30 years ago has not been forgotten. The victim hasn't collected his cash. He's ready to.

And Jen Graves, in her first in-for-Tyler-post, wonders whether she should be heading to Miami. As a generalist, I'd never consider going to an art fair, unless I happened to be chasing a particular story. But every year, I'm peppered with questions about whether I'm heading down. Actually, I get the same thing about South by Southwest. As if I'm going to haul myself to Austin to see 497 bands in 9 days, or pay to listen to a talk from Daryl Hall.

Conventions are for people like this.
