Buy Gas, Get Tanglewood Pass
Thinking about cutting down on travel because of gas prices? The Boston Symphony Orchestra is hoping you'll reconsider, at least as far as Tanglewood goes. Here's the deal: For every $50 of gas you buy at one of 11 Gulf stations on the Mass Pike, you'll get a free lawn pass to the BSO's summer home. This promotion runs June 30 through August 22. To get the passes, you'll need to bring your receipt. And there are a few dates when the offer isn't good: A Prairie Home Companion (June 28), James Taylor (July 3 and 4), Boston Pops (July 8 and July 26), August 3, Wilco (August 12), and the Jazz Festival (August 29, 30 and 31).

I'm rolling in my grave. If anyone goes to Tanglewood just because they love to buy gas, I'm gonna come and haunt them! It's about the music, you knuckleheads, not about the gas! That being said, I had a bean pie that's making me a little gassy. Gosh, I hope I can do my best! I love your blog, Jeff! Keep up the good work! The BSO should be nicer to me!
Not good enough. I'm heading out there for the July 5th "Les Troyens" which I'll hear inside the Shed. (Due to circumstances out of my control, I couldn't get to Part I in Boston but did manage to attend a Symphony Hall performance of Part II.) They should also offer a discount for Shed ticket buyers. Nonetheless, I expect to buy gas at home at Haffner's or Hess and get any fillups in the region at the lowest price I can find on the internets.
hey...they should be thanked for helping out, so we don't have to sit home with gas prices. If I have to chose an event to go to it will be theirs. I will buy food and wine during the performance....THANKS to the BSO's promotion
