Another Levine replacement: Leonard Slatkin
Slatkin will fill in for the ailing Levone on Friday night, July 18. He and the Boston Symphony Orchestra will perform Harbison's Symphony No. 5 with mezzo-soprano Kate Lindsey and baritone Thomas Meglioranza.
Slatkin, who last conducted at Tanglewood in 1994, takes over as director of the Detroit Symphony Orchestra later this year.
