Levine surgery delayed

Tom Levine, the maestro's brother, provided this update through the Boston Symphony Orchestra:

Jim has had numerous (standard) tests this week, and several consultations and discussions over the best surgical procedure. Because most NY hospitals are short staffed over summer weekends, Jim will go in for the surgery at the beginning of the week. They expect to keep him for about 4 days. Then he will be recuperating at home.
