Science course cuts, science course options

Where some see the Museum of Science decision to scale back its educational program as a cut, others see it as an opportunity.

Here's some info from Michael Bergen, the executive director of Top Secret Science:

"We read with interest your article in this morning's Globe. Just for your information and for the hundreds of kids that may not be able to take a science camp with the Museum, we are offering a wonderful week long science camp from August 25-29 in Stoneham with the Stoneham Recreation Department. We are the Massachusetts Science Center located in Woburn and over the past 14 years have worked hands-on with over 400,000 local children. We are a charitable nonprofit and work with over 1,000 children each week. Our last camp of the year is in Stoneham. For only $180, the children will do over 100 hands-on science experiments and at least 40 of these will be make and take home projects. No museum in the country can actually compare to what we offer our students."
