Brutvan, and MFA shuffle

Posted by Geoff Edgers September 22, 2008 06:13 AM

It's not exactly clear why contemporary art curator Cheryl Brutvan has become a part-time Museum of Fine Arts employee, and will be through the end of the year. If she responds to a request for more information, I'll pass it on. The MFA isn't saying.

For those concerned about the museum cutting the contemporary curator job, no fear. The position is already posted.

In addition, the MFA has also said farewell to learning director Susan Longhenry, film head Bo Smith, and concert manager Dan Hirsch. As museum officials told the Globe, Longhenry has been replaced by Barbara T. Martin. "Nobody could have imagined they'd all be departing before the reorganization," said deputy director Katie Getchell."It's kind of random."
