Wednesday rambles
Does anybody care about the World Series? I've watched, perhaps, a combined two-thirds of an inning. Will the Rays go from worst-to-first? Can the Phils close out the first championship since 1980? I'm far more interested in watching this anti-cocaine PSA from Mike Schmidt.
Okay, so perhaps AC/DC has sold well when the economy's falling apart. But doesn't this premise ignore the band's other dozen-plus albums?
Glad that Gideon Lester, he of the American Repertory Theatre, had a bird's eye view of the great poodle caper at Logan. He watched from the window of his US Airways flight "as five Massport vans drove in circles trying to corral Choochy. The poodle "seemed to be having a good time," said Lester. "They looked like they were running cattle."
Want to help out Arlington's wonderful Regent Theatre? Thanksgiving Weekend (Sunday, November 30 at 7pm), Jimmy Tingle will host a vaudeville-style concert called "Keeping The Heat On!” to help defray the theatre’s energy/operating costs during the winter. Performers include Five O’Clock Shadow, Ultrasonic Rock Orchestra, Charlie Farren, Steve Baker & Bob Jennings of BeatleJuice, Airborne Dan Foley, Ryan Casey, and Digney Fignus.
