Boston Ballet doing Celtics dance

Posted by Geoff Edgers November 14, 2008 01:19 PM

Good news for fans of basketball and ballet. On Nov. 18, during half-time of the Celtics-Knicks game, Boston Ballet will put on a special show.

It will be choreographed by Boston Ballet dancer Melissa Hough with music by Keri Hilson, Britney Spears, Timbaland and Flip Baber. Boston Ballet will have 14 dancers on hand.

That same night, the Celtics will present its Heroes Among Us award to Michelina C. Cassella, a Boston Ballet Center for Dance Education instructor, director of Physical Therapy Services at Boston Ballet, and director of the department of Physical Therapy and Occupational Therapy Services at Children’s Hospital. Cassella created Adaptive Dance, for children with Down syndrome.

But back to the half-time show, which raises an important question: Don't the Celtics already have dancers?
