THE MORNING AFTER OPTIMISM

Tom Murphy

Not an easy play this. Let me quote from Hugh Hunt, former Abbey Artistic Director, Chairman of Manchester University Theatre Department and a Co-Founder of London's Old Vic. "Highlight of 1971 at The Abbey ... dream and reality unfold like a vast symphony as a fairy-tale prince and a virginal nymph intertwine their lives with a ponce and a whore." These parts brilliantly played by (the late great) Colin Blakely and Eithnne Dunne.
