This weekend quilters will converge on Lowell, a city rich in textile history, for the Lowell Quilt Festival. Here is a sampling of some of the quilts. This quilt, 'Dutch Sampler,' was designed and pieced by Paul D. Pilgrim and quilted by Toni Fisher. It features gaudy Pennsylvania Dutch blocks that date back to 1880.
