This three-dimensional work, "Minutiae," was made in 1954 by Rauschenberg as a set for a Merce Cunningham Dance Company work also called "Minutiae." The piece, whose materials include painted wood, fabric, metal, and plastic on a wood structure, was later shown in a traveling retrospective of the artist's work.
