Aretha Franklin has amassed shelves full of awards and international acclaim throughout her decades-long reign as the Queen of Soul. However, lately, it appears the one thing she wants is a chance to judge “American Idol” hopefuls, as she told CNN that she would love to join the show. Franklin even took morning show host Kathie Lee Gifford to task when she suggested the 70-year-0ld Franklin may be too old for the youthful “Idol” demographic, responding via a statement to CNN that “my audience and fans span the age of 8 to 90!”
