Ray Donovan Sunday, 10 p.m., Showtime

The pilot for this new series (which is available streaming on the web right now) may be a mixed bag, but there is plenty of potential in this tale of an L.A. fixer to the rich and famous — the always great Liev Schreiber — and his highly dysfunctional family of South Boston transplants, headed up by patriarch Jon Voight. At the winter edition of the Television Critics Association press tour, Schreiber talked about his fascination with Southie, calling it “an incredibly interesting, colorful, complex neighborhood.” He also said he welcomed the contemplative nature of his character. “I think that’s probably one of the things that drew me to Ray as a character is that he didn’t talk much.
