Every 10 years the WGBH-FM broadcast license comes under review, and this spring a local media advocacy group called The Committee for Community Access has something to say about it.
CCA has filed a petition with the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) asking it to deny renewal of the license, The Boston Globe reports. The group also “wants the radio station to restore music programming” that was either cut or shifted to WCRB-FM (99.5) in 2009.
Jack Bernstein, CCA’s co-founder, told the Globe that he expects the requests to be turned down, but he and his supporters still hope WGBH will reconsider the current music programming options. Bernstein is a retired telecom analyst for the City of Boston.
