It is strange, on television today, to see so many women so misunderstood. Just as ''Desperate Housewives" proved the ratings strength of women in leading roles, just as networks stack up sitcoms headed up by female characters, the CBS drama ''The Unit" wriggles into the Nielsen Top 10 with a vision of womanhood that belongs in the 1950s, at best.
