'Dance' goes on the road

``So You Think You Can Dance" is hitting the road.

During Thursday night's episode of the popular dance-contest TV show, co-creator Nigel Lythgoe announced that the stars of ``Dance" will go on tour to 25 cities, including a stop at Boston's Wang Center for the Performing Arts on Oct. 7. Advance tickets will go on sale the weekend of Aug. 12, according to the show's website, www.fox.com/dance .

The final episode of ``Dance" will air Aug. 16 and the tour, produced by 19 Entertainment , is scheduled to begin in Seattle on Sept. 12. The ``American Idol" tour, also produced by 19 Entertainment, is in progress.
